• true bloom HydroBloom™ Skin Rejuvenation Kit

First Impressions with TrueBloom HydroBloom Skin Rejuvenation Kit

    Hi Everyone!

Today, I’ll be sharing my first impressions review of a gadget from a brand called TrueBloom.

Hydrodermabrasion combines a 2 stage process into one quick and easy treatment for clearer and healthier skin.
Stage 1 is the Detox and Exfoliation process. The warm water polishes and deeply cleanses your skin while the strong yet gentle vacuum unclogs your pores and removes toxins from your skin!
Stage 2 is the Revitalization and Brightening process. The vacuum suction increases blood flow, triggering natural collagen production while stimulating new cell growth.
Collagen is the essential protein which provides the elasticity in the skin, helping your skin look and feel young and healthy.

    • Easy 5 Minute Weekly Treatment
    • Sucks Dirt & Makeup From your Face
    • Unclog Pores, Remove Blackheads & Whiteheads
    • Stimulates Anti-Ageing Via Collagen Production
    • Improve Skin Tone & Texture
    • Reduces Wrinkles & Fine Lines
    • Suitable For All Skin Types
    • true bloom HydroBloom™ Skin Rejuvenation Kit

I’ve always been curious about these types of devices. You put warm water into the device which cleanses the skin while the vacuum removes toxins and unclogs skin. The vacuum is meant to increase blood flow and stimulate new cell growth. The device comes with 6 different attachments – 3 silicone ones and 3 hard plastic (different sizes for each). The instructions in the box aren’t the most coherent, but it gets the message across.

The suction on this device is very strong and I’m a bit concerned about it causing bruising on the more sensitive areas of my face. I made sure to read instructions carefully before using it. I tested it out on my arm to see how strong the suction was and it got a bit red. After a while it went away, so I tried it out on my face. I got a red mark on my forehead and jawline which stayed there for the rest of the night. On the website, there’s before and after shots of the water. There’s one compartment for the clean water and another for where the water goes after. I’ve seen the water look cloudy and kind of yellow in some pictures. I’m assuming the person who used it had removed their makeup with the device. When I tried it, the used water was a little cloudy and there were a few hairs in it, but I didn’t see anything else.

I’ll continue to try it out on my arms and legs just to see if it helps with blood circulation. I don’t get a lot of blackheads, but if I do, I will test it out. I’m curious to see if it’s strong enough to pull out a blackhead. For now, I will just have to test it out long-term to see if it does improve blood circulation and improve skin tone.

    RATING: 2/5

At the moment, I’m not convinced this product is necessary for your skincare routine. It feels like it’s just another gadget that I’ll use for a few months and then forget about, but we’ll see. Especially with this being gadget from a brand that’s not well-known. Maybe one from a better known brand would have a gentler suction.

Have you tried one of these gadgets?

Review | Grace & Stella Dr. Pedicure Foot Exfoliating Mask

    Hi Everyone!

Today, I’ll be reviewing the Grace & Stella Dr. Pedicure Foot Exfoliating Mask. They are currently a lot cheaper on Amazon.ca than what I purchased it for in December. I think they have new packaging, so they’re probably just trying to get rid of the old stock. A few years ago, I was sent one to try. It worked so well that I decided to buy another one. You may have read my review on the Tony Moly one. If not, you can read my review).

Dr. Pedicure is an innovative foot care product that will unbelievably shed the old, dead, callused skin right off your feet. Made with the exact same 17 vegetable extracts to this day and promises to deliver the same kind of jaw-dropping results. Tired of having rough, dull feet? Reveal your feet’s youth with Dr. Pedicure.

Includes 1 pair of our Dr. Pedicure Foot Booties & 2 pieces of tape.

Regular booties fit up to size 13 US Men. Original XL fits up to size 16 US Men.

There are warnings to consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant, nursing or diabetic. Also, do not use if you have any open sores or cuts on your feet.

    Treatment

So, you put these plastic booties on for an hour. The booties have an inner lining that’s soaked in liquid/gel that contain AHAs. The instructions tell you to put the booties on and then put socks over them. Apparently the added heat will speed up the process. Once you have them on, remain seated while keeping your feet on the ground or parallel to the ground. You want the liquid to get the whole sole of your foot, so if you your feet up, the liquid will pool to your heels. I like to keep a hand towel beside me just in case.

After the hour is up, you take off the booties and wash your feet with soap and water. After you’ve washed your feet, they may look a bit pale. Not to worry, they’ll go back to your normal colour after a bit. It says the peeling will start in 6-10 days.

    Post-Treatment

After 5 days, between my toes were starting to peel and my heels looked like they were cracking. The next day, the pads of my toes and heels were peeling. It looked like I had blisters on my toes.

It was a bit uncomfortable for me once the peeling started because my feet felt really dry. I read somewhere that it’s best not to put lotion on your feet because it can interfere with the peeling process. If you absolutely must, use an oil-free moisturizer. The soles and sides of your feet will peel the most since that’s where most of the liquid is when you’re wearing the booties (gravity, duh!). The tops of my feet just look dry and flaky instead of peeling.

I like wearing socks once my feet start to peel so I’m not shedding dead skin everywhere. Ankle socks are easiest for me. Just make sure to put any socks on slowly and carefully. When I take my socks off, I do it over the garbage can as I turn them inside out to shake out the dead skin.

It’s very tempting to scrub or rub your feet (especially when you’re in the shower and your feet are wet), but don’t do it! After showering, gently pat dry. Also don’t pull off the dead skin. If it’s hanging off your foot and annoying you, carefully cut with cuticle cutters.

Hopefully by the end of this ordeal, your feet will be nice and smooth! My feet aren’t super calloused or bad to begin with, so I don’t know how well it works on someone who has really rough heels/feet.

If you decide to try a foot peeling mask, a few things to consider:

    • I think the best time to do the treatment is when it starts getting warmer (right before sandal weather) because you won’t want to wear sandals while your skin is peeling
    • The dead skin will stick to fluffy socks, so I like to wear regular ankle socks made of cotton

It's 7 days after using the Dr. Pedicure Foot Exfoliating Mask. You put these plastic booties on for an hour. Inside, they're lined with a sheet mask material soaked in liquid that contain AHAs. Google how foot peeling masks work if you want more info. After taking the booties off, you wash your feet and then it's a waiting game. After 5 days, between my toes were starting to peel and my heels looked like they were cracking. Yesterday, the pads of the toes (it looked like I had blisters) and the heels were peeling. Today, as you can see, it's peeling even more and the ball of my foot (I wish I could call it the 'Padfoot' because Harry Potter lol) has started to peel as well. You can see where the skin has peeled away on my heel looks baby smooth. If you decide to try these (can buy on Amazon), a few pointers: firstly, it warns not to use if you're pregnant or if you have a cut or open sores. It will be a bit uncomfortable for a couple days while they peel. The bottoms of your feet will peel the most because gravity, duh. I like wearing socks once they start to peel so I'm not shedding dead skin everywhere. Ankle socks are easiest for me. Just make sure to put them on slowly and carefully. Take off the socks over a garbage can. It's very tempting in the shower, but don't scrub or rub your feet. After showering, pat dry gently. Also don't peel off the dead skin. If it's hanging off your foot and annoying you, cut with cuticle cutters or something. Hopefully your feet will be super smooth at the end! My feet aren't super calloused or bad, so I don't know how well it works on someone who has rough heels. RATING: 5/5 (I've used it before so I know my feet will be super smooth after it's done peeling)

The peeling is a bit of an inconvenience and the dryness is a bit uncomfortable, but it does work (for me). If you plan to do this before a special event, I would try it in advance to see how long it takes your feet to start peeling. Then, you can do it again before your special event (maybe add a few extra days just in case).

Have you tried a foot peeling mask? If you haven’t, would you try one?

  • Haul | March 2019 Korean Skincare

    Hi Everyone!

It’s been a while since I did a haul blog post and because I’ve been on a low buy, there’s been no reason to do one. I’ve almost run out of my current cleanser (KORAI Cloud Cleanser – read my review) and my COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patches (read my review), so I decided to order a bunch of different ones to try. Hopefully, these will last a while because I bought so many. I purchased the products from Chuusi.ca (a Canadian online shop that sells Korean beauty and skincare). I’ve previously bought from them and they ship things out really quickly. Last time, I ordered and then received a notification 3 hours later. This time, it was the next day since I ordered on a weekend. I’m really excited to try the products I ordered:

    • 3x COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patches
    • 2x Benton Goodbye Redness Centella Mask Pack
    • Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera Foam Cleanser
    • COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser
    • Tosowoong Enzyme Powder Wash
    • Heimish All Clean Balm
    • Banila Co. Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm (Original)
    • Mizon Apple Smoothie Peeling Gel
    • NEOGEN Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling (Green Tea)
    • Tony Moly Shiny Foot Super Peeling Liquid.

I’d love to try other acne patch brands. So far I’ve only tried COSRX and Nexcare ones (read my This or That post comparing them)

Update: Click here to read my review comparing the two cleansing balms.

Have you tried any of these products? What are your fave K-beauty products?

First Impressions with Joanna Vargas Exfoliating Mask

    Hi Everyone!

Today, I’m doing a first impressions review with Joanna Vargas’ Exfoliating Mask. I was sent this for review and here are my thoughts:

An enzymatic exfoliating mask that sweeps skin clean for brilliance and glow.

Apply a thin layer to cleansed and dampened skin. Scrub gently for one minute or leave on as a mask for 15 minutes. Rinse with tepid water.

This mask looks like liquid gold. It’s more fluid than other exfoliating masks I’ve used which I’m not sure I love because I feel like I’ll accidentally use more than I need. It has a citrus scent mixed with a bit of sweetness.

The mask has something that has a sandy feel (I’m guessing it’s the Pumice/Volcanic Rock) which I’m not sure is the best for my sensitive skin. The first time I used it, I think I scrubbed a bit too hard and I noticed my face was a little red after and I hadn’t even scrubbed for a minute. I think it’s just a bit too rough on my skin (even when I do it gently), so I will probably use this for the body instead.

    RATING: 2/5

While the mask made parts of my face feel soft, it made other parts feel really dry. I’m sorry to give it such a low rating, but there are more affordable exfoliating enzyme masks out there that are also more gentle on my skin.

  • The Body Shop Skincare Haul | September 2018

    Hi Everyone!

As you may have already gathered, I really like The Body Shop skincare products. The tea tree oil line has been great for controlling and preventing acne.

    Check out my reviews:
Tea Tree Oil Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution (I don’t think they sell this anymore)
Tea Tree Oil Targeted Gel Blemish Stick
    Colour Adapting BB Cream

The Body Shop was having a Buy 2, Get 1 Free sale, so I decided to pick up products that I haven’t tried yet. I chose three of the tea tree oil products, an aloe cleanser and the pink grapefruit exfoliating gel scrub.

    Tea Tree Oil

I tried this out already and it’s not oily like the Tarte Maracuja Oil (which I was expecting), it was similar to the Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution. It smells very strong (more than the solution).

    • Targeted care for blemished skin
    • Can be used direct on skin or for facial steaming
    • Soothing
    • Does not dry out skin

Tea Tree Oil Anti-Imperfection Night Mask

I have not tried this yet, but I’m excited to see how well it works.

    • Skin instantly looks and feels refreshed, purified, and soothed.
    • In the morning, imperfections* appear reduced.
    • Skin looks healthier, smoother, and mattified.
    • Improves appearance of pores.
    • Helps maintain clearer-looking skin.
    • Tone, texture, and oiliness
    • Features a refreshing memory-gel texture and is infused with tea tree oil grown in the foothills of Mount Kenya.
    • Alcohol-free, no pillow-staining formula.
    • TOP TIP: Pop the Night Mask in the fridge for an ultra-refreshing feeling.

Tea Tree Oil Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner

I haven’t tried this yet because I recently picked up the Thayers Witch Hazel toner and just started using it. I didn’t want to try too many new products all at once.

    • Refreshing, purifying toner
    • Made with purifying tea tree oil from the foothills of Mount Kenya
    • Removes residual make-up and impurities
    • Shake-to-activate mattifying powders reduce shine
    • Skin appears visibly clearer
    • Pores appear tighter

    Pink Grapefruit Exfoliating Body Scrub

I’ve used their body scrub before, but they’ve reformulated it since then. I’ve tried the one that’s more like a sugar scrub. This one is interesting because it’s a gel texuture, but then when you rub it in, you can feel the grittiness of it. It smells refreshing and it works well. Is it worth $22 though? I’m not sure.

    • Body exfoliator
    • Smoothes and refines skin
    • Buffs away dead skin cells
    • Leaves skin beautifully softer and refined
    • Fresh, energizing gel texture
    • Energizing scent

    Aloe Vera Gentle Foaming Wash

This is very light and I like that it’s foamy. My sensitive skin hasn’t reacted to it, but it is a bit pricey when it’s regular price.

    • Formulated for sensitive skin
    • Pure Community Trade aloe from Campeche, Mexico
    • No added fragrance, color or alcohol
    • Formulated without preservatives

I will post reviews of the Tea Tree Oil products once I’ve tested them out properly.

What are your fave Body Shop products?

  • My First Haul from Tarte | September 2018

    Hi Everyone!

I made an order from Tarte because I wanted to finally try the Amazonian Clay Foundation (the powder one). I’ve been eyeing it for a long time now and I finished up enough of my foundations that I allowed myself to buy a new one (read my makeup goals post). I wanted to get a powder foundation for lighter days where my skin is good and I don’t want to put on liquid or stick foundation. I had it narrowed down to a few different powders, but I decided to go with this one because I love Tarte.

I got two other products I’ve never tried before and a fave of mine: Shape Tape (a cult fave), the Timeless Smoothing Primer (a fave of Tati, Beauty YouTuber) and the Frxxxtion Stick.

After making the order, I now have 9 products from Tarte which makes it the brand I own the most products from; at most, I think I only own 1-4 things from a single brand.

Rainforest of the Sea Frxxxtion Stick 3-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser (read my review) – My friend told me about this and I got a deluxe sample of it. I loved it. Originally, I thought it was too expensive, but the deluxe sample lasted a while, so I was able to justify the price.

With a clarifying cleansing gel powered by the Rainforest of the Sea™ complex & suspended diatomaceous earth microexfoliants, the vegan friendly formula draws out surface oil & reduces shine, while purifying pores for the deepest clean possible.

The hypoallergenic gel stick gently sloughs away dead surface cells & polishes skin as it cleanses to fight dullness & pump up the radiance. Great for all skin types, it can be used on a regular basis without stripping skin’s moisture or left on as a treatment mask to absorb toxins & reveal smooth, sexy, glowing skin.

Shape Tape Contour Concealer in 12N Fair-Neutral – I chose the shade Fair-Neutral because it’s the next neutral shade down from the foundation I chose (Light Neutral). I swatched it on my hand and I think it will be good for the under eyes. I’ve seen/read so many reviews on it, but no one ever mentioned that it has a scent to it. I thought it would smell like other concealers, but it has a slight perfume-y/cologne-y scent. I also didn’t realize how much fatter it was from other concealers. I knew the doefoot applicator was bigger, but I guess I never looked that closely when other ladies have posted pics of their concealers. The tube is almost as big as my Bobbi Brown stick foundation.

    • Full coverage with flawless matte finish
    • Conceals all imperfections & doubles as a contour/highlight product
    • Creamy, easy-to-blend formula won’t flake or crease
    • Nourishes with mango seed & shea butters
    • Helps illuminate skin for a lifted effect

Timeless Smoothing Primer – I picked up the limited edition one because it was $8-9 cheaper than the regular one. I assume it’s the same product with a different coloured lid to match one of their themes. I used it yesterday and it really smoothed out my pores. I will do a proper wear test and post a review later this month. Be careful with this product, I was tilting it to smell it and it must’ve melted off of the jar because the product fell out in one clump. Luckily, I was able to pick it up from my chair and press it back into the jar.

    • Formulated to fade out your biggest beauty boundaries such as large pores, fine lines and wrinkles
    • Antioxidant-rich formula gently melts into the skin delivering a surge of moisture, peptides and other naturally-derived elixirs for a firmer, smoother appearance
    • Has a lightweight texture and fresh powder scent as it provides the perfect blank canvas to enhance the look and wear time of makeup

Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation in Light Neutral – I’ve swatched this at Sephora, but I haven’t used it yet. I think this is the closest match based on the description.

Powered by Amazonian clay & light-reflecting gemstones, this hypoallergenic foundation gives you natural radiance & matte coverage in a weightless, flake-free powder. The full coverage formula is all you need to cover redness, unevenness & pores, with Amazonian clay to help control oil & make your makeup last. Precious gemstone tourmaline works to energize skin & diffuse light for natural dimension, & the custom mesh applicator offers buildable & breathable coverage without settling into fine lines.

Other products from Tarte that I’ve used are the Amazonian Blushes (love these), the Maracuja Oil (I’m still testing it, but really like it so far), Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint and the Tarteist Sculpt & Slim Contour Brush.

What are your faves from Tarte?

  • elf Lip Exfoliator vs. Milani Keep It Sweet Sugar Scrub

This Or That | elf Lip Exfoliator vs. Milani Keep It Sweet Sugar Scrub

    Hi Everyone!

Today, I’m comparing Lip Scrubs: elf vs. Milani. I received the elf lip exfoliator from Topbox Circle and I purchased the Milani scrub in a haul last year. Both have sugar granules that help to exfoliate. The elf one is packaged like a bullet lipstick and the Milani one comes in a jar.

elf Lip Exfoliator in Mint Maniac

Gently exfoliate lips to remove dry, chapped skin with our Lip Exfoliator! A sweet sugar and smoothing sensation, infused with Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Avocado, Grape and Jojoba Oils to nourish and protect. This Lip Exfoliator treats and smoothes lips for a conditioned and revitalized feel.

This exfoliator comes in different ‘flavours,’ I received Mint Maniac, but they also have Brown Sugar, Sweet Cherry, Coconut, Pink Grapefruit and Rose. I think I would’ve chosen the mint one anyway. I might’ve considered brown sugar, but to be honest, it looks kind of gross since it has specks of the brown sugar.

Since the instructions say to use on moist lips, I prefer to use my finger to get some of the scrub and then use my finger to exfoliate instead using the tube. I think using my finger is a little more hygienic especially because my lips are a wet. After exfoliating, I can feel the slight tingle from the mint.

Milani Keep It Sweet Sugar Lip Scrub

Smoothes and exfoliates lips for an instant polished and revitalized look. Natural sugar granules soften skin with a kiss of sweetness, leaving lips feeling nourished and prepped for color. Use 2-3 times per week and follow with Keep It Smooth Luxe Lip Treatment for the ultimate lip luxury experience.

Since this scrub comes in a pot, it’s a bit chunkier and the consistency is like a body sugar scrub. It has a sweet scent that’s not too overpowering.

    WINNER: elf Lip Exfoliator

For the Milani scrub, my fingers feel greasy after using it- I guess it’s to help moisturize the lips after, but I don’t like the feeling. Personally, I think I prefer the elf one because of the way it’s packaged. Also, I felt like the elf one did a better job at sloughing off the dry skin and it feels gentler (the Milani lip scrub is more chunky and messier).

    What’s your fave lip scrub?

  • First Impressions with Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator

    Hi Everyone!

Today’s review is on the Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator. A while back, I made a Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutique order and I got a bunch of samples. I kind of forgot about all the samples because I put them in a drawer, but I discovered them the other day and decided to give some of them a try.

Peeling gels slough off dead skin and then you have these gross balls of dead skin you have to wash off your face. The exfoliating scrubs have a gritty texture that helps brighten your face. The Vasanti Face Rejuvenator is similar to Tarte’s Frxxxtion stick, but it comes in a tube instead of a stick. After using it, my face felt soft and smooth. It smells better than the Pixi Peel & Polish and the Tarte Frxxxtion stick. It’s weird though, if you smell it directly, it can sort of smell like papaya mixed with plastic (even though there’s no plastic), but once you wash it off, it leaves a nice, refreshing scent behind.

    IMG_20180617_065741_676

Say hello to Vasanti’s #1 seller! This powerful scrub uses microdermabrasion technology to brighten, exfoliate and cleanse your skin gently to provide instant results. Enriched with papaya, professional microcrystals and aloe for a triple action power.

Exfoliates, brightens, and hydrates at once with the triple action power of papaya enzymes, professional micro-crystals, and aloe that rivals a day at the spa

Provides instant results, with visibly smoother, brighter, glowing skin after just one use

Gentle enough to be used on the most sensitive skin

Helps with it all: fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, dark spots acne, dulling skin, and large pores

    20180616_235012.jpg

To apply the face rejuvenator, you wet your face and massage a small amount in circular motions. The suggested use is 3-5 times a week and it says that one bottle will last 6 months.

    RATING: 4.5/5

I can see why it’s Vasanti’s #1 seller. It smells amazing and didn’t aggravate my sensitive skin. It might be on the expensive side, but I think it’s definitely worth it. I would probably use it 2-3 times instead so I can make the bottle last longer. I will definitely be picking up a full-size bottle.

  • This or That | Pixi Peel & Polish vs. Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Frxxxtion Stick 3-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser

    Hi Everyone!

Today, I’m comparing two exfoliating scrubs: Pixi’s Peel & Polish and Tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea Frxxxtion Stick 3-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser.

    20180310_093137.jpgPeel & Polish

This radiance revealing enzyme peel resurfaces for smoother, softer skin, and a healthy looking glow. Natural fruit enzymes loosen dead skins cells, lactic acid gently exfoliates, cellulose peels & sugar extracts polishes, lifting away dullness revealing brighter skin.

20180310_093151.jpgRainforest of the Sea Frxxxtion Stick 3-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser

TIP: You know when you’ve finished a lipstick and you can’t push up anymore, but there’s still a lot of lipstick in the tube? This is the same. I was able to scrape out a full face’s worth of cleanser from my tiny, travel-sized stick.

    20180310_092449.jpg
Peel & Polish (left), Frxxxtion stick (right)

The Frxxxtion stick is more gentle than the Peel & Polish. I think I might use them at the same time; use the Frxxxtion stick on cheeks and forehead and use the Peel & Polish on areas that need more exfoliating. Both don’t have the most pleasant smell. The Peel & Polish almost smells like paint, while the Frxxxtion stick has a scent that I can’t quite put my finger on, but since they’re both scrubs that you wash off after a few minutes, it’s not a big deal.

My face feels super soft after using both of them and the price points are similar so I think the verdict is obvious:

    WINNER: It’s a TIE!

What exfoliating scrubs do you use?

  • flawless finishing touch hair remover

Review | As Seen On TV Finishing Touch Flawless Facial Hair Remover

    Hi Everyone!

Are you ever skeptical when you see a product on TV that claims to work really well? I know when I see products on TV, I am interested in trying them, but don’t necessarily want to shell out the money to buy it…especially if it’s not guaranteed that it will work. There’s a store called Showcase that has As Seen On TV products and I decided to make an account because they sell Morphe products which I want to try. I got an email that advertised the Finishing Touch Flawless Facial Hair Remover and was interested by the claims that it gets rid of facial hair without pain, nicks, redness or irritation. I also received a bonus called the Satin Finish. It’s supposed to gently exfoliate and buff away unwanted hair. It’s like a very fine sandpaper, I tried it and it didn’t really work to remove any hair, but it did exfoliate and made my skin feel smoother.

    Capturecc.PNG

    media-201710243434

The new gold standard in facial hair removal from Finishing Touch. From the world’s #1 facial hair remover for women comes Flawless – a revolutionary new device that erases facial hair instantly and painlessly. Recommended by dermatologists, the 18K gold-plated head is hypoallergenic and gentle on all skin types with a built-in light so you never miss a hair! No nicks, redness, or irritation.

The ways I usually get rid of facial hair is tweezing or waxing. Just last year, I got those portable razors from Muji and I started using them to get rid of the peach fuzz. They are amazing, my skin is super smooth after using it and I don’t get any redness like I do after tweezing or waxing. The only thing I don’t like about using the portable razor is that it’s kind of dangerous if you don’t do it at the right angle, I accidentally nicked myself once. Also, I’m always worried that someone will scare me and I’ll jump and cut myself. If you plan to buy the razors, the best way is to do it dry and use your other hand to keep your skin taut.

It’s hard to take a close up picture to show you how well it removed the peach fuzz on my face, but I took before and after pictures of some hairs on my hand. Even though the hairs on my hand are coarser than the peach fuzz, you can see how well the Flawless Hair Remover works.

    778

I like that the Flawless Hair Remover has no sharp edges and that I could easily get the hairs near my eyes without having to pluck them. It reminds me of a sweater defuzzer because it has a razor that cuts the hair, but it’s safe to touch the head without cutting your finger. The light that comes with it is quite useful, it’s easier to see the hairs you’ve missed. It uses a single AA battery so you don’t have to go out and buy AAA or some specialized batteries for it. The head twists off and you clean the inside with the brush that comes with it. The company says it’s like a fancy lipstick, but it’s a bit bigger than a lipstick.

They also have a rechargeable model available in black

    RATING: 4/5

I give it a 4/5 because it works well and removes the hair without pain or irritation like it claims. I docked a point because it’s quite expensive and then you have to buy replacement heads after a few months.

Thoughts: I think the portable razor does a better job of making my face feel smoother and it’s a lot cheaper than the Flawless Hair Remover. The Flawless is TSA-friendly whereas a razor would be considered a weapon, so it’s good for travel.

Have you bought As Seen On TV products? What are ones that actually work?

  • Using a Silicone Sponge to Apply Face Masks

    Hi Everyone!

In the past year, I started using a flat foundation brush to apply my face masks. Before then, I always used to use my hands, which wasted a lot of product. Also, if your face mask comes in a pot, it’s less hygienic to stick your fingers in the pot to scoop some up (most of my face masks come in tubes anyway though). Using a brush is better in multiple ways because you use less product, it’s more hygienic and it applies the mask more evenly. The only drawback is that I find it hard to clean the brush after, especially if it was a clay face mask, it takes a bit more effort to make sure the bristles are all clean on the inside.

A few months back, I bought a set of 2 silicone sponges from Amazon after seeing a lot of reviews about them to apply foundation. So I thought I’d try them out, but I like beauty blenders/sponges and brushes better than the silicone sponge. I found that silisponges don’t blend as nicely as a beauty sponge or brush. So, I thought, great, now I have two that I probably won’t use, but then I had an epiphany! The silisponge would be good for applying face masks because it will apply a nice even layer and it will be super easy to clean after! I just tried it with my L’Oreal Exfoliate & Refining Red Algae Clay Mask and it’s 100 times easier to clean than a foundation brush.

Have you tried silisponges? Do you like using them to apply foundation?
